How Whey Protein Can Build Up Jake Roberts Again

By Rob Sutter

If there's one thing that I remember Jake "The Snake" Roberts for, it's being one of the best talkers in the wrestling business. However, he was a great wrestler as well and his ability to utilize ring psychology to tell a story is practically second to none. His drug problems are well-documented, though, and it took the help of a close friend to bring him out of the dark period he was in for so long. It seems like whey protein is the next step to help him fully recover.

As most wrestling fans who know of Jake's life were aware of, he was recently able to receive help from a close friend in Diamond Dallas Page. Being a former WCW World Champion turned fitness instructor, DDP was a close friend of his and decided to help him not only purge those addictions from Jake's life but help him trim down his weight in the process. Once someone who seemed to be impossible, DDP's efforts paid off in spades since the former Snake is in the best shape he's been since he left WWE.

I believe that Jake couldn't have made a better choice than moving in with DDP, as his regimens have had success on physical stances. I'm not saying that Jake will get back into the shape he was in during the 80's overnight but what about looking at substances such as whey protein? Organizations who specialize in these and then some, the Muscular Development Store included, understand how muscle mass should be built. Jake's certainly lost a bit in the past thanks to the demons he had to overcome.

When you're a wrestling fan, it's easy to be hit with one sad story after another. People in the business may fall to their own demons and at worst, you learn about them after they've met an unfortunate end. I believe wrestling has evolved to a point where things are cleaner in comparison to what they were in the past. For people who wrestled in the past, I can only hope that DDP and others who are equally as helpful can lend an assist.

One cannot deny the impact that Jake's fans have had on his recovery as well. For instance, Jake needed shoulder surgery but could not amass the funds in order to support it. He needed $9,200 in order to fund it and the fans more than met the goal. In fact, he was able to garner almost $25,000, as of this writing. To say that this is a staggering amount would be an understatement but it goes to show that the fans are caring. They want to see these people recover and go on to live reasonable lives for the long run.
